I could never give up wine.
Never, ever, ever.
I rarely drink more than a glass at a time, but I’ve found that just one glass has a great calming effect on my mind. It’s actually scientifically proven to do so! Scientists have found that red wine has an ingredient, resveratrol, that helps relieves stress. Red wine also has antioxidants that are good for your heart.
So, basically, wine is medication.
Okay, totally kidding. My point is, wine is something that I can’t give up and I figured there were plenty of ladies out there who felt the same way.
So I knew I had to find the best low carb wines for any carb counting ladies who can’t give up their glass of wine either. And you won’t have to!
The Best Low Carb Wines
So, here’s something you need to know about low carb wines: they have to be dry. You’re probably already familiar with the fact that sugar=carbs so sweet wines are definitely a no-go. If you’re like me and don’t like sweet wines at all, that won’t be a problem. If you’re not a fan of dry wines, this might be a little more of a challenge.
When you pick your next bottle of wine, take a good look at the nutrition label. You want to pick a wine that has an alcohol content of 12% or higher. The reason for this is that a higher alcohol content shows that more of the sugar from grapes (used to make the wine) has fermented into alcohol and the wine will therefore be lower in carbs. The wines listed below are typically no more than 3 grams of carbs per wine glass (except for champagne which is 2).
