How to Clean Your Waist Trainer

By Diana Sanchez, Staff Writer

If you type in the Google search bar, “how to clean your waist trainer?” you will get a lot of different answers. But which one is the right one?

You’ve come to the right place.

How to NEVER clean your waist trainer

Please, never, ever, ever put your waist trainer in the washing machine.

No matter how busy you are, or how quickly you need it cleaned. A washing machine can ruin your premium waist trainer, and possibly even shrink it. It will never be the same again.

Okay, so how do I clean it then?

Good question! Ruby Malmen, Chief Ambassador for Lifestyle Curves, believes that if you use and care for a waist trainer correctly, you may never need to wash it.

What?? You might be thinking.

Read that again: If you use and care for a waist trainer correctly, you may never need to wash it.

This is actually a wonderful thing for you and your waist trainer. By not washing it, you preserve its peak form. Your waist trainer will never be any less effective. It’ll work just as well as the first day you tried it on.

So how do you care for a waist trainer so that you won’t need to wash it?

It’s pretty simple, really. For the most part, you should never wear a waist trainer on your bare skin. You should wear a cotton top underneath your waist trainer so that any sweating that is caused by the waist trainer is absorbed by your top. In this way, you are preventing your waist trainer from becoming dirty by absorbing sweat or otherwise. Wearing the waist trainer underneath your outfit (on top of your cotton top) is another way to ensure that your waist trainer stays clean, as well.

But what if your waist trainer gets accidentally dirty and you find yourself forced to wash it? What do you do then?

How to wash your waist trainer - when it is absolutely necessary

Step 1. Find a container (or sink) large enough to hold enough water to submerge and hand wash your waist trainer.

Step 2. Fill the container with warm water (not too hot).

Step 3. Mix in a small amount of mild detergent (for example, baby clothes detergent).

Step 4. Let your waist trainer soak for at least 10 minutes.

Step 5. Use a clean cloth or sponge to gently wipe down your waist trainer.

Step 6. Gently squeeze the waist trainer to get out the excess water.

Step 7. Pour out the soapy water, and refill the container or sink with clean water.

Step 8. Repeat steps 4 and 6.

Step 9. Hang up your waist trainer to dry in a well-ventilated area.

You’re all done! It is recommended that you purchase more than one waist trainer so that you can rotate through them throughout the week (which is another way to keep them from getting too dirty). Check out all of Lifestyle Curves’ premium waist trainers here.
